My First Cowl

Earlier this week, I began researching how-to videos on making my own cowl. I wanted to use yarn that my daughter gifted me. 

I choose two yarns: Bernat Soft Boucle (Teal Twist) and Lion Brand Homespun (Opal). Both of these yarns are five bulky. I crocheted using a combination of these two yarns. 

I may have enough yarn left to create a knit or crochet hat. I like the colors of these yarns. It is lovely. 

My finished cowl is about 36 x 9 inches. I used 15 mm / Q crochet hook. It worked up quickly. It was an easy project. 

Loom Knitting: Hat

Loom Knitting Hat 🧶

I used Loops & Threads Cozy Wool Laine Douillette yarn in the colorway of Earth Tones. There is  90 yds /4.5 oz and 82 m /127.5 g. It is a Super Bulky 6 weight. The materials are 50% wool and 50% acrylic. 

I added a faux pom-pom. You can find them online or at your local craft stores. You will need a 41 peg loom, scissors, a yarn or darning needle, measuring tape, and stitch markers. A crochet hook is optional. 

I used Knifty Knitter looms in adult large (Yellow) 41 pegs.
